work life balance

an ultimate goal for millions of working class
in hong kong, we have a twisted yet very true definition for the term
when work equals to your life, the two were balanced. (work = life)
how sad it is

before i came to australia, i really hope i could live a balanced life here
what i mean is the real balanced life, not the balanced equation above.
i hope i could work for a few days a week and go to play and travel when i'm off
however i find this could hardly be achieved since i don't have so much money
which i've discussed in earlier entries

the other reason is that i chose a relatively stable way to live as a backpacker
while i am sitting comfortably on the sofa and watching the Las Vegas series
some other backpackers had already been traveled to 3 or 4 places
for farm works, for sight seeing or what
honestly i hope i could have such experience
but i'm sure there will be some trade-offs in addition
such as losing a long term employer who treasures your existance
such as losing the time to be with my new friends who'll still be my friends when i'm back to hong kong
such as shortening my stay due to money shortage (my account's been kept break-even for 3 months, which ensures my stay for another few months if suddenly i lose my job)

so instead of work, life, work, life, work, life, work, life, work, life, work, life...
i prefer work, work, work, work, work, work, life, life, life, life, life, life, life...
the pancake roster until late Jan was issued and i got pretty good hours
the box highlighted in blue is today
while the tiny blue words indicate i have a shift for that day
so here's the equation again!!
but i love it, for the first time of my life.

X'mas is coming
this will be the first hot x'mas i've ever had
(it's now summer with temperature ranges from 38 to 12 across a few days)
i don't have any plan yet, but for sure i don't have to work at night
and for sure i won't hide myself in the house and missed everything
yeah yeah yeah
